  • 1. How did you start your business? Why did you want your own business? When did you start your business?
I started my business in March of 2016 after a friend inspired me several months prior. This friend delivered a baby at 29 weeks. I made this friend and her daughter matching bracelets with rose and crystal quartz along with a lotus flower charm. Rose quartz is known to open the heart to support unconditional love and deep inner healing while crystal quartz clears negative energy and enhances spiritual growth. The lotus flower charm symbolizes the beauty and spiritual growth that comes from difficult challenges. It was a very meaningful gift for both of them to receive and it filled me with so much joy to be able to help them in some small way.
  • I felt compelled to start a business where people could buy jewelry with metaphysical properties that would connect them to the people they love and also provide healing properties. It felt more like a calling rather than a choice.
  • 2. Why was owning a business a perfect situation for you and your family?
I am a stay at home mom to two children. Mama's Linkz Jewelry allows me to open up my creative spirit and give back to others in a meaningful way. It provides me the opportunity to be flexible with my time so I can be with my kids as much as possible.
  • 3. What does your business specialize in? What's your favorite product? How'd you come up with the name?

Mama's Linkz Jewelry specializes in bracelets and more specifically bracelet sets for family, couples, mothers & daughters or grandmothers, sisters, aunts, godmothers, fathers & daughters or sons, etc. These bracelet sets are for any two people who have a special connection and want to be reminded of each other throughout the day.
  • My favorite items to create are the custom bracelets. I love working with people to make something unique to their relationships, needs and preferences. I guess you could say I'm a people pleaser.
  • Mama's Linkz Jewelry has a triple meaning--Lynx are the spirit animal that I connect with the most. The Mama and baby Lynx are my logo. Lynx represent the power of second sight, instinct and observation. The lynx has the gift of knowing and I often find that when I make jewelry for people that certain semi-precious stones and their healing properties speak to me based on what might be going on in that person's life. Linkz also stands for the connections we have between us and the actual links in between the actual bracelets/chain.
  • 4. What do you love best about working for yourself?
I love setting my own routine, goals and organizing my time based on family/business needs.

    5. When working, When do you work in the day/evening? What's your process for working? Things you do daily, a routine?
I work both during the day and at night creating jewelry pieces that I am inspired by--I might have just taken a walk on the beach and loved the way the dark blue ocean water played off the bright blue sky and it will entice me to create a piece like the Nautical Blue Sodalite and Blue Lace Agate bracelet: https://www.mamaslinkzjewelry.com/collections/bracelet-sets/products/mom-daughter-bracelets-mommy-and-me-blue-sodalite-and-blue-lace-agate-adoption-gift-starfish-charm-baptism-gift-bridesmaid-gift
  • 6. Take me step by step through working with customers. Do you do anything special or unique, wrapping, specials, etc.?
I pride myself on working closely with customers to ensure they love their bracelet/s. I like to communicate clearly through the full process of purchasing--bracelet sizing, shipping dates, and packaging.
  • I offer custom design pieces as well and work very closely with clients to choose colors, charms, and design details so their bracelets will be special and unique to them and/or their loved ones.
  • I think my packaging is unique as it is a jewelry box with my logo on it (Mama and baby Lynx) wrapped in butcher's twine and glass beads. Each bracelet or bracelet set also comes with an insert that tells you how to care for your jewelry along with what the metaphysical properties are of the beads.
  • 7. What is your success rate? What do you think customers would say about your work, shop?
Customers have enjoyed working with me because of how quickly I respond to their needs and work hard to make sure they love their purchase. I've only received very positive reviews.
  • 8. Why do you think people should shop in your store, and why should they support moms who work for themselves?
I like to make the entire buying process easy and beautiful. I include a jewelry box with every purchase that is wrapped in bakers twine and tied with glass beads so you feel like you are opening a gift. Each jewelry box has an insert that describes how to take care of your jewelry and explains what the metaphysical properties are of the beads in the bracelets you purchased. These bracelets make a unique and thoughtful gift.

I think it is valuable and important to support women who are working hard to raise the next generation of change agents.
  • 9. What are your items to sell?
    Bracelets and bracelet sets.

    10. How does your business allow you to be a great mother?
My business exemplifies the morals I want to share with my children--by honoring one's creativity, passion for caring about all people and the importance of connecting with those we love in a meaningful way.
  • 11. What do you think would surprise readers to know about you?
I didn't know until my 30s if I was going to want children.
  • 12. What is the coolest thing you've ever experienced as part of working with this business?
I was commissioned to design a memorial bracelet set for a mother and father who just lost their day old baby. A few days prior I was drawn to buy two angel wing charms which isn't something I would normally purchase. I planned to use the angel wings along with amethyst for these bracelets and was told that the parents just got matching angel wing tattoos along with purple flowers.
  • 13. What is one of your favorite gifts to give someone for the holidays?
Homemade cookies, slippers and a movie I know they will like.
  • 14. How many kids do you have? Give us one word to describe them.
I have a 2 and a half year old little girl named Clara and a three week old little boy named Calvin. One word to describe them is precious.

Mom of the Month - Danielle Crook

I'm always excited each month to celebrate a hard working, amazing mother in our group with the Mom of the Month recognition, but this month I'm SO happy we chose who we did. Danielle Crook is our November Mom of the Month (yeah, I'm a month late, so what?! :) ), and she's SO deserving! She's so incredibly honest in this piece - sharing something so difficult about her experience with Post  Partum Depression after the birth of her first child, difficulties with medical issues, and more. I'm in awe of her honesty and know it's going to help other moms feel a little more normal and relatable.

Thank you, Danielle, for sharing your story with us.

:)

1. Describe your children in 3-5 words.
Articulate, imaginative, strong
2. How old are your children?
Kennedy Rae, will be 3 Jan 13th and baby girl Crook due Feb 9th (no name yet but my daughter has named her pinkie pie after her favorite my little pony)

3. How would you describe your pregnancies?
First pregnancy was easy. Had many years of infertility and miscarried twins and finally became pregnant on round 4 of IUI's. Only difficulty of pregnancy one was massive vericose vein on my groin which made wearing underwear extremely painful by 3rd trimester. Second pregnancy I suffered from nausea and still do. Diclegis has helped immensely. Also have vericose veins all over my legs and am very swollen this time around.

This pregnancy is a miracle. OB still can't understand how I got pregnant as I have one fallopian tube scarred shut from body and the other one really scarred from last pregnancy. Even fertility clinic thought it would be impossible to get us pregnant once I turned 34. Well here I am 35 and God has bigger plans for our family apparently.
4. Describe yourself as a mom in 3-5 words.
Loving, blessed, detail oriented

5. What type of mom do you hope your children think you were someday when they're old enough to tell you?
One that taught them how to give and accept love, that we all make mistakes and should forgive others and ourselves, that being respectful isn't an option and that it's good to be silly sometimes
6. What things have you done as a mom that you're most proud of?
Taught my daughter to say yes sir, yes ma'm etc, held myself together through daughter's illness/diagnosis of autoimmune disease (fever syndrome), and displaying more patience than I ever have in my life

7. What have been the most difficult parts to being a mom?
I was a terrible newborn mom. Really bad post partum depression. I put my daughter in a mailbox all bundled up in a snowsuit in the middle of winter after she had been crying for four straight hours (acid reflux/colic) for several nights on end and I was alone with her bc my husband was working nights. Walked outside in the snow In my bathrobe and snow boots. Put her halfway in then started bawling n took her right back out and called my husband crying that I needed help. I got it together after that.. also dealing with the unknown of my daughters autoimmune. At first they thought it was leukemia and we were in and out of the hospital for months without answers. We are still waiting on an official diagnosis but I don't panic anymore when her fever spikes to 105.5.
8. What is your favorite baby/child product(s) that makes your mom job easier?
We Loved the rock n play with our first. Such a Godsend for babies with reflux. Also am a little bit of a germophobe so hand and face wipes and paci wipes were my best friend.
9. What are 5 things you're thankful for as a mom?
Just having the opportunity to be a mom first and foremost. Getting to breastfeed for the first 3 months, having the ability to work full time and still be a mom and getting to experience everything through Kennedy's eyes. I love supporting her passions, which right now are baking and gymnastics 😊
10. What is a typical day like for you?
Get up get showered and ready for work get my daughter dressed and ready for school give her a snack and get my lunch packed drop her off at daycare work 9 hours pick her up then head to gymnastics, awana at church, back to the ice rink to coach some more or on easier nights home to make dinner spend time with Kennedy do dishes laundry bath if needed and put her to bed. (Although my husband does most of her baths now bc it's hard for me to bend over🙈)

11. What 5 things would you like to do with your kids someday, if anything were possible and money no object?
Take Kennedy to Disney world, make sure she got to put her feet in the sand once every year, have a larger house that actually had a playroom for her, take her to visit the places she's interested in.
12. What are your favorite CHRISTMAS activities to do with your kids? Traditions? Things you love to eat? How do you prepare for the holidays?
We have an advent calendar that my late mother made when my older brothers were little. We place a felt ornament on it every day until Christmas. My little baker LOVES baking cookies breads etc. this year we are starting the kindness elves and doing the 12 days of kindness with her. We talk about the reason for the season and will take her to see a live reinactment of the Christmas story called Return to Bethlehem. Broccoli casserole has been a family recipe for for generations so we make that for all holidays. We also do a Christmas Eve box with Christmas Jammie's hot chocolate popcorn or a cookie and a book or movie that we read or watch before bed on Christmas Eve. I try to do as much of my shopping well in advance and save extended family and last minute things for the month of December.
13. Tell us a time where you felt like you failed at parenting... but then realized you truly had not failed, things worked out fine.

Every day or at least a few times a week. It's always fine. I've realized in a lot of cases there are 50 different right choices and a couple wrong ones and that sometimes admitting you made a mistake to your child isn't such a bad thing.
14. What makes you a strong mom?
Prayer and help from others.

I have learned to be both humble when others offer help or suggestions and assertive when things matter to my family.

Especially in the medical field. I will listen to drs and take advice but never stop searching and pushing for things to be looked into.

Truthfully, this group has celebrated, prayed, cried and cared about the posts I've made or comments I've had. I am so very thankful for everyone in this group and don't think I would be close to rocking or even surging this motherhood journey without mommy stories!! A special thanks to Alexandra Clinton Zadja for introducing me to this group!! 💕 you girl!

 1. How did you start your business? Why did you want your own business? When did you start your business?

I am a stay-at-home mother of 2 little girls who is inspired daily by mothering them to create unique and natural playthings and accessories. I own my business - Out of My Head - which I started fourteen years ago while living Charleston, South Carolina. I started making jewelry for fun, and my work was soon juried into the famous Charleston Farmer's Market Art and Craft section. After moving back home to Maine to start a family, my hand-work continued to feed my soul during the wonderful (and sometimes exhausting) days of motherhood.

Since the birth of my second daughter, my work has blossomed from what was once jewelry only to hand-sewn and embroidered children's items and breastfeeding/birth advocacy-wear. My children continue to inspire my work and lead me down ever-changing paths of creativity!

2. Why was owning a business a perfect situation for you and your family?
Being a small business owner allows me the flexibility to be there when my family needs me. I can work when they are at school or doing homework, and still be available for almost all their activities, doctor appointments, school events, etc.

3. What does your business specialize in? What's your favorite product? How'd you come up with the name?

Out of My Head specializes in what I call “elegantly out of the ordinary”. From baby gifts, children’s accessories and playthings, to specialty home decor, Out of My Head strives to offer unique, handmade treasures for you and your loved ones!

I came up with the name for my business when first thinking about starting my own online shop. I thought to myself “What am I? Out of My Head?” I knew right then that I had found my name!

My favorite product is usually whatever I most recently made! I love being able to work in small batches with gorgeous fabrics. Batiks are my favorite, and I love incorporating them into Doll Ring Slings, funky cosmetic bags and clutch purses, as well into embroidery applique.

4. What do you love best about working for yourself?
I love the creative freedom and time to spend on what is most important to me - my family!

5. When working, When do you work in the day/evening? What's your process for working? Things you do daily, a routine?
Now that my children are older (13 and 16), I work mostly during the day while they are at school but when they were little, I would work late into the night while they were sleeping. It made my body tired but replenished my soul after the sometimes long and intense days of mothering little ones.

I don’t have much of a routine...which is one reason I love what I do...no boredom! The unpredictable nature of online sales is such that one day I might need to work on a Custom Order or shop restocks, another day has me packaging and mailing orders, and other days are spent on social media and promotion. use the down times to develop new product and renew my creativity.

6. Take me step by step through working with customers. Do you do anything special or unique, wrapping, specials, etc.?
Most of my work is ‘ready-to-ship’ so my customers just choose what they want and place their order. I pride myself on shipping very quickly, often the same day they order! I wrap each item for safe in natural kraft paper and raffia ribbon so each one is a gift! I am also happy to gift wrap for free all year round!

7. What is your success rate? What do you think customers would say about your work, shop?
I am proud to have over 365 five star reviews on Etsy and over 600 positive feedbacks on eBay. I spent many years (before children) working in high-end boutique retail shops in Bar Harbor, Maine, Northeast Harbor, Maine and Charleston, South Carolina, so I am accustomed to providing exemplary customer service and keen attention to detail. My customers often comment on the high quality of my sewing, quick shipping and frequently say ”It looks even better in person!”

8. Why do you think people should shop in your store or buy your product that you create, and why should they support moms who work for themselves?

I love supporting small, mama-owned business because I know that almost all of the money earned goes back to supporting their children and families. They are turning right around and spending the money on things their kids, need and helping to support their local economies. Every country that supports its women and mothers sees immediate positive results in their economy. I am proud to be a small part in this powerful movement of women entrepreneurs!

9. What are your favorite or best items that you sell?
I am still partial to my Doll Carrying Rings Slings because they were my first online product. I loved wearing my own babies and I feel that passing on the loving attachment that babywearing can bring is an important gift we can give to our children. In my newer items, I love the American Sign Language ‘I Love You’ hand applique that I sew onto baby bibs and bath towels. In our family, we often use that hand symbol to quietly say “I Love You,” so it’s a nice family tradition to share in my shop. We are also big “book nerds” in our house so I am extra fond of my Book-Themed bath decor that say ‘Book Nerd’, ‘The Book Was Better’ and ‘I’d Rather Be Reading.’

10. How does your business allow you to be a great mother?

Well, I hope that I am a great mother, but you’d have to ask my kids to be sure! I just hope that they appreciate the time that I can spend with them and be available to support their activities, help with homework and make the occasional after school snack...all while pursuing my creative passion and helping to augment our family income.

11. What do you think would surprise readers to know about you?
I have a B.A. in Theatre/Dance. In fact, I learned to sew in the costume classes required for my degree, but didn’t put them to use until I had babies! I still teach dance and acting on a very part time basis, and love sharing this part of my life with my girls who also love dance and theatre.

12. What is the coolest thing you've ever experienced as part of working with this business?
My work has been featured on a couple Buzzfeed lists that still circulate. That was a huge boost financially for awhile and just lots of fun to be featured!

13. What is one of your favorite gifts to give someone for the holidays?

I actually like to shop for the holidays all year long so I can take my time finding the perfect gift (and save some pennies with sales and careful bargain shopping!) I add gifts all year to a big bin I keep in a closet and have fun in November finding all the treasures that I’ve been collecting all year!

14. How many kids do you have? Give us one word to describe them.
I have two girls...and they are inspiring!

1. How did you start your business? Why did you want your own business? When did you start your business?
Our Business started in 2015 when we were cleaning out a room that had all of our old wedding decorations stored away and we didn't know what to do with them. My husband had started getting into woodworking just about the same time two of our friends were getting married.  They wanted him to make a sign for seating but didn't want to keep it. That got us both thinking about renting out props for weddings. From there we started getting requests to make wine racks and signs.

2. Why was owning a business a perfect situation for you and your family?
Starting a business together was important for us for many reasons.

One, we both love to work together and create things that make others happy. The most important was that in October we found out that we were having a baby, and by having our own business it allows us more time with our daughter.  It gives us a great opportunity to raise her in a creative environment, all while teaching her responsibility and the value of hard work.

3. What does your business specialize in? What's your favorite product? How'd you come up with the name?
Our business specializes in wooden gifts, home decor and prop rentals. Our favorite items are our bottle openers and our "Home" signs that feature the State of Maine in place of the "O". The business name is our last name and what we specialize in.

4. What do you love best about working for yourself?
What we love best is that this business has allowed myself to only have to work part time so that I can be home for our daughter. Hopefully as we grow as a business it will allow my husband to be home more with her as well.

5. When working, When do you work in the day/evening? What's your process for working? Things you do daily, a routine?
My husband works on the business during the day, before he goes to his full time job. I work around the baby's schedule depending on what we are doing. It could be during early mornings, naps and after she has gone to bed. Sometimes I am able to work on things when she is up when it can be done between her needs.

6. Take me step by step through working with customers. Do you do anything special or unique, wrapping, specials, etc.?
My husband and I research trends on social media and come up with projects, designs and colors. After that, we make the product and critique things as needed. We often get special orders where we have the customer either send a picture of what they would like or tell specific directions on how they would like the product made. Once we have designed a special order we do a template so they can see what their product will look like. Once we have the okay we begin building.  One benefit with a custom order is when we finish the project and post a photo of it on social media, others see it and request the same thing.

7. What is your success rate? What do you think customers would say about your work, shop?
We are a new business and growing fast. I feel as though all of our customers like our product and the quality. We do not have a physical store, but just launched an online store on our website.  We are also just getting into the wholesale market and hope to grow our business in that direction. As far as the prop rentals have gone, it has been word of mouth.  So far, every wedding we have done, the customers have been extremely happy with what we have provided.

8. Why do you think people should shop in your store, and why should they support moms who work for themselves?
I think people should shop with us because we can do custom orders and make the things that they want the way they want them. We do quality work, we are local and our entire product line is hand made.  We try to get most of our supplies from other local dealers and businesses. Most of the wood we use is reclaimed and repurposed materials that would have been just thrown away.

They should support moms who work for themselves because it helps that person to support their family and allow them to be home with their children.

9. What are your items to sell?
We sell a wide assortment of product, which is continually growing.  We sell handmade home decor signs and gifts made from mostly reclaimed and recycled wood.  We do have several items that are made from newly milled wood to give it a more modern feel.  We try to keep up with the current trends of rustic, industrial and modern.

10. How does your business allow you to be a great mother? Our business allows me to be a great mother because I am able to be home for our daughter and be able to best attend to her needs. My husband's full time job is very demanding and his schedule often changes. By having our own business I can be there for whatever our daughter needs whether she is sick or she needs to go to a doctor's appointment. By having our own business I can change my hours if she needs my attention more.

11. What do you think would surprise readers to know about you? We try to use reclaimed local products that have history to them. How cool is it that people have bottle openers made from wood that once was used as a shelf in a local hardware store that no longer exists?  Our antique door backdrop rental is made from doors that came from a house in York that was over 100 years old.  My husband was able to salvage them before the house was torn down and burned to make way for new construction.  My husband loves history and takes any opportunity he can to obtain materials from buildings that will soon be gone forever.

12. What is the coolest thing you've ever experienced as part of working with this business? The coolest thing we have experienced doing this business is making other customers happy. Whether it's a wine rack to hang in their dinning room for a birthday gift or a custom sign made for an anniversary present; it's the look on their face and the excitement they have when they receive our product.

13. What is one of your favorite gifts to give someone for the holidays? My favorite gifts to give for the holidays are things hat have meaning and sentimental value. Whether it be the materials used, the product itself or a word that has meaning.  We try to bring those principles into our product.

14. How many kids do you have? Give us one word to describe them.
We have a four month old daughter named Koralynn. If I had to choose one word to describe her it would be joyful. She is always happy, smiling, fun and brings so much joy to my husband and I.

I am so happy I found the work of Jennifer Yager, she has such an awesome online store for you to check out for all your little baby needs! These items would make fantastic gifts! Sneak Peek Baby Boutique offers all organic items, things that all moms are looking for these days. I admire the hard work that goes into this business she has created - all from a dream to stay at home with her two littles. I LOVE how she describes feeling like a super hero after birthing her children. I felt the same way and LOVE this analogy!

Thanks for sharing with us, Jennifer!

  1. How did you start your business? Why did you want your own business? When did you start your business?
My website for Sneak Peek Baby Boutique went live in July 2015. I spent about 9 months planning and learning before I launched my site. I literally had a dream one night when my second daughter had just turned one in 2014 that I owned a store that sold collections of clothes for infants and pregnant and postpartum mamas.

For me, becoming a mother was obviously life changing, but it affected my life in ways that I could not have known as my single self. I felt so powerful. It sounds cheesy but powerful almost like a super hero. All of a sudden I had the confidence to fullfill my dreams.

Now there are many factors that go into this feeling of course. Number one is the unwavering support of my husband, the generous encouragement from family and friends, and also the need to prioritize my time around my children. I’m sure many mothers can relate that at times your children can require every ounce of you, both physically and emotionally. I created my business so that I could in a sense “stay home” with my kids. It enables me to be flexible with my schedule around theirs. I am grateful and fulfilled building something of my own.

I run the business on my own but I have utilized every person and avenue I can to help me. I never thought I could build something online but I read….a lot and continue to read….a lot and learn anything I can. I use Shopify as my website’s platform and they have TONS of resources and they are amazingly supportive. I also have utilized the local SCORE office through the Small Business Administration. It is free and so so helpful. My mentors there are extremely invested in my wellbeing and they have excellent advice.

In October 2016 I rented a small showroom space at 111 Bow Street in Portsmouth, NH. All of Sneak Peek Baby Boutique’s collections can be viewed and purchased by appointment!

2. Why was owning a business a perfect situation for you and your family?
Owning your own business is a risk, but it's also so awesome to be in charge of yourself. I can work when I want. It enables me to always be able to put my kids first which is very important to me. I have a creative outlet while continuing to be available for my children. Plus it never feels like work because everything I do is for me and my family.

3. What does your business specialize in? What's your favorite product? How'd you come up with the name?

Sneak Peek Baby Boutique specializes in organic and natural fiber clothing and products for littles and mamas.

Most of the clothes I sell are 0-24month but I do carry some pieces up to 5y.

My favorite product as of this moment is the Pointy Peak Hat by Misha and Puff. Their winter line is hand knit in Peru with 100% naturally dyed merino wool, and the colors this season are gorgeous. Sneak Peek Baby Boutique is catchy, the name of the store was also in my dream. As soon as I woke up I checked to see if the domain name was available and it was! It seemed meant to be. I also sell gender reveal packages and related products where the customer can surprise themselves or other loved ones with the gender of their baby.

4. What do you love best about working for yourself?
The autonomy. I don't mind being by myself. It is honestly nice to have the few hours of quiet a week.

5. When working,  When do you work in the day/evening? What's your process for working? Things you do daily, a routine?
This year both my daughters are in preschool so I work the 3 mornings they are there. I also work occasionally on the weekends. The first few years I worked a lot at night after they went to sleep. I always have a mile long checklist and I cross things off as I can.

6. Take me step by step through working with customers. Do you do anything special or unique, wrapping, specials, etc.?
I have realized over time that one of the reasons I wanted to start this business is to interact with my customers. I like doing expos so I can see what people are attracted to and hear their comments. Interaction through email and over the phone is also just as rewarding for me.

I LOVE to come up with custom gift sets. Customers contact me with a little bit about their recipient and how much they would like to spend and I put something together.

One of the reasons people want to shop with me is because they can trust that I have done all the work to ensure that the products I carry are natural, organic and sustainable. I do gift wrapping for anyone that asks!

7. What is your success rate? What do you think customers would say about your work, shop?
I do the work to be successful but I still get a tiny bit surprised when orders come in from all over the world. I guess it should always feel that way. If you get too comfortable maybe your drive to be as successful goes away.

8. Why do you think people should shop in your store or buy your product that you create, and why should they support moms who work for themselves?
I curate my products with like minded families in mind. I value sustainability and I believe that any little way we can help our Earth is important. Shopping the types of products I sell also offers the opportunity to have conversations with your children. They model after us. I also think moms should shop with me because I have adorable products! I am a mom of young children so when I am searching for new brands I have them in mind.

I have worked and been surrounded by small businesses since childhood. My dad ran his own business, and I worked for many small business owners growing up on Cape Cod. The community is similar to that on the seacoast, it is seasonal with tourists, and the locals fiercely love their community and are incredibly supportive. I feel honored to be apart of it.

9. What are your favorite or best items that you sell?
I sell a lot of merino wool. I think people are surprised at how soft it is. Merino wool is referred to as “nature’s gift”. It has antibacterial properties, it absorbs odors, and it is temperature regulating. Your baby can't get too hot or cold while wearing merino wool. We sell pajamas, sheets, and many other merino wool clothing pieces. Sneak Peek Baby Boutique is also an exclusive US retailer for an Australian brand called Luna Gallery. We stock a few of their blanket styles and others can be ordered.

10. How does your business allow you to be a great mother?

My business allows me to be able to put my family first. It can be a struggle feeling pulled in many directions as a mother. For me, having the ability to be present in their lives means everything. Customers can shop on my websites 24/7 and their orders are shipped within 24 hoursof purchase. I open the showroom when my girls are in school. My kids do not fully understand what I do but I can see their pride when they talk about it. I can involve them too which is great.

11. What do you think would surprise readers to know about you?
I am a registered nurse and I still work at the hospital a couple shifts a month. Most of my experience is in the neonatal ICU. I currently work in a special care nursery.

12. What is the coolest thing you've ever experienced as part of working with this business?
The sense of accomplishment I have every time I have a happy customer.

13. What is one of your favorite gifts to give someone for the holidays?
For a winter baby, you can’t go wrong with a blanket, a hat, and a kimono onesie undershirt.

14. How many kids do you have? Give us one word to describe them.
I have 2 kids and they are FUN!
