We started off at the South Berwick Strawberry Festival. I'd never gone to this before. It was tons of fun! Very crowded and way too hot for my liking, but overall a fun event. I encourage getting there early to beat some heat and crowds.
We rode the free trolley shuttle from the middle school in town. The kids loved that the most out of the entire trip! The festival is free to get in, and there were at least 50 vendors I swear. TONS of food, every kind of food you'd ever think of. I had a delicious pulled pork sandwich. Hot dogs, burgers, barbecue chicken, cotton candy, fried dough, and of course strawberry shortcake and cheesecake. Delicious!
We sat under the tent and enjoyed an awesome oldies band. The kids liked dancing!
Trying fried dough was fun!
There is a playground behind the school that was nice for kids. Also, a kids section of games, bouncy house, big huge slide, etc. These all cost extra, so bring some dollars for the kids to try these out.
The live wildlife mini zoo was the best part. My son was so excited about seeing these animals!
He got to feed a porcupine! (sweet potatoes, yum!)
Little Miss got to show off her adorable strawberry outfit we randomly found months ago at a consignment sale! People loved it.
And the best part... eating strawbery shortcake for mid-morning breakfast snack. YUM.
We had a great time. It was more something I'd like to go to without kids so I could really look around at the vendors - GREAT items there! But kids enjoyed it, too, so it was a nice morning.
